11 Speed Cassettes:

We recommend Shimano™, SRAM­™, or KMC™ chains.

12 Speed Cassettes:

We recommend:

• SRAM­™ Eagle 12s Chains

Compatible:

• YBN™ or KMC™ 12s chains
• SRAM™ Transmission or Flat-top chains* - accelerated wear could be possible. 

Poor Compatibility:

• Shimano 12s chains - Setup is often difficult and in some cases not possible. 

While other chains may work, we have extensively tested and used chains from these manufacturers, and we are confident in the guidance provided above.

*SRAM flat top and Transmission chains use a slightly larger roller than "traditional" 12 speed chains. So far in our limited testing, these chains appear to work well with all e*thirteen cassettes.
