Important: While e*thirteen cassettes ARE COMPATIBLE with Shimano shifters and derailleurs of the same speed count and similar derailleur cage capacity, they ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with either Microspline™️ or Hyperglide™️ hub drivers that are normally found on Shimano drivetrains!

(This means that if you are buying our cassette to install on your Shimano™️ drivetrain equipped bicycle, you will also need to have a compatible hub WITH AN XD™️ DRIVER to mount the cassette on. Most (but not all) hub manufactures offer XD driver options.)

Why does e*thirteen not offer a cassette that mounts on Microspline™️ or Hyperglide drivers?

From the start, we designed e*thirteen cassettes to be compatible with both SRAM™️ and Shimano™️ shifters and derailleurs however because both companies use different mounting interfaces where the cassette installs on the hub, we had to pick sides when it came to the standard our cassettes interface with. At the time, the choice was clear: The XD™️ Standard was introduced specifically with wide range 1x systems in mind and at the same time, Shimano™️ did not yet offer feasable 1x wide range systems until Microspline™️ drivers several years later.
